On a serious note I think the new avaliablity to post Pickies with text is first class. it makes the threads easier to follow, certianly when asking how a part works/fits together, I found when restoring my P type it was sometimes very difficalt trying to explaine the problem, with a photo attached life would have been much easier. Well done you PC techies!

Andrew, looking at the excellent photo of your M type model, I think it could do with a little air in the rear off side tyre!

It's the trials model!
Actually, its a 1930's cigarette lighter. The tyres had all perished and the ones on there are Scalextric ones sliced in half. That should upset a few purists - an M-type on slicks!
I have tried to source some suitable 'period' model tyres without success. If I knew others who wanted some, I'd look at getting a batch made.
I have seen another one of these which was, in fact, painted (green) and was awarded as a prize in a pre-war motoring event.

Hi Andrew I don't believe there was any intention to limit the addition of pictures to those hosted by Flickr. If you have pictures on your own site then by all means add a link to them from within this forum. We decided to use external hosting of pictures mainly because of server capacity issues as well as security / virus concerns. Nick |

Thanks Nick,
The emphasis on all the committee posts that I had seen had been on the security aspects. Still, I suppose that if I PGP sign any photos, then you can be reasonably sure that they have not been "got at".
Thinks, download limits of 250 MB a month for me, about 6000 largish pictures a month. (Drifts away in dreams of global stardom!).

I use a PC very little for work only I have set things I do and thats it. So I am a complete num nuts when it come to this most frustrating TV.

Here's my attempt to include a photo.
I thought I'd start with colourful! Please excuse my vanity.
Taken while passing through Hardy, Arkansas, while heading down to Tennessee for the MG 2006.
A memorable trouble free trip. Yes, I do have them at times. My thanks to the team for giving us the oportunity to include and enjoy this aspect of the forum.
Brian.
Well, wonders never cease, it worked.

Hi All
Please advise on posting pic.
As you may have seen I can get the URL details onto the posting, however not the actual pic with my text.

Hello Russ,
You must be nearly there!
Peter Green, with input from Mke Linward and me, has written a detailed set of instructions for loading pictures from Flickr. He is going to add it to the DOCUMENTS DOWNLOAD section of the website. I guess other hosting sites should be similar. We have put in every key stroke from start to finish. Please let us know if it works for you - happy to hear any suggestions/comments.

Russ,
The instructions can now be downloaded from the Document Download page of this website. The instructions are for PC users, they might not be applicable for Mac users.

Hello Russ,
The reason that the Url link showed instead of the photo is that on the forum's reply the Format Mode would have been set on Prompt.
Change it to Basic and click the Insert Image icon on the Format line.

Thanks to everyone for your help in establishing the photo additions to our Forums.
Already even the most mundane enquiries are enlivened by the photos.
Thanks once again for a first class effort.
