This clearly illustrates the drawback of metrication. When this innocent little bush was invented at Abingdon, it was meant to be 1/2" tall. Paul now tells us that it should be 145 mm - obviously a slip of the finger, and now Ian corrects that to 14.5 mm. But 1/2" is in fact 12.7mm ! I am no engineer, but in engineering terms, the difference between 14.5 mm and 12.7mm is enormous. Bring back the pound, say I.

hi, The two blocks that I removed from my 4 seater PA 1232 measure 13.9 & 14,5, discrepancy has undoubtedly come from 70+ years of wear. Ian |

I have just been into the workshop and dug out these, which I thought were going to be the hood fixings you are all talking about, however they appear to be nothing like the other picture or drawing. Any ideas what they are?
