The picture below was provided with the below description also from 1966 ish

"The MG racing coloured ( cream & brown) ones were owned by Bob De Beer, & were ( if my memory is correct ??!!****) a K3 Magnette of racing fame, but I can't remember its history ( you might find it from it's reg' No.) & in the background the P type that still holds the Brooklands lap record."

Tom,

The cream and brown car (number 58) is an NE Magnette (NA0519) and the single seat car is a Q type (QA0258). The cars belonged to the late Syd Beer and are still owned by his family.

Tom,
The 66 MG Silverstone meeting really is on a bit of a roll today; the Q Type (Malcolm) was entered as No 80 & Syd in the NE as No 58. Your friends memory was spot on rather than "ish".
