Can anyone point me towards a company, (or individual), who would be happy to strip, repair (dents and solder on new fixing brackets for the central mesh)and then polish and rechrome ? There are many 'chromers' out there, but not all are keen on the repair aspect. I have already seen the list of platers given here on the forum. Any guidance would be appreciated. Cheers Bob
If you are visiting the Classsic Car Show at the NEC in November you will find a number of platers displaying their wares. I recall discussing plating my radiator shell with one guy who showed me one he had refinished. You could clearly see seams at the rear where patches had been TIG welded in but the front was pristine. I seem to recall he is the one with the example bumper - half grotty original and half superbly refinished. He may have been based in Coventry.
