It had to come didn't it?

A member of my local car group has flagged up this little Brussels gem.

http://fbhvc.co.uk/2012/08/23/eu-roadworthiness-testing/ .

Let's all hope it never comes about & as far as the UK is concerned, for what it's worth, there's another of those e-petitions if anyone wants that warm feeling of having "done their bit".

http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/37784.

Sorry if you've got hydraulic brakes! Two leading shoes, surely not? Flashing indicators; what's wrong with the good old semaphores the car came with?

Please don't shoot the messenger!

Cheers,

Dave

There seems to be a glitch in that, if you try to get the petition, it says it's not available. There is then a "return to home page" button. Clicking on this shows you a number of petitions including "ours" & if you access it via that, lo & behold, the address is exactly as in the link!

Changes proposed for motorcycles are to include testing the quality of the machine's brake fluid, disassembling to check for brake pad contamination, blah blah blah. There's a petition to stop dead baby jokes on that HM Gov site!
Best become an alcoholic and say ~~~~~~~s to it all. Surreal.

Further thoughts. Perhaps we'll all be required to revert to one tail light & double dipping headlights will be outlawed?

Fear not. The intrepid and rather fearsome Marta Andreason, who is an MEP and the South Eastern Representative for UKIP is on the case. Marta was the top EU Accountant who was sacked by Lord Kinnock (the Welsh Windbag) for being too good at her job and highlighting the massive frauds and accounting discrepancies which are part of "normal" life in the EU. She is also fighting the case of the biker boys against having ABS, air-bags, side-impact protecting bars and other vital features of biker safey ! In her current monthly newsletter, she specifically mentions the case of replacing the original lever arm shock-absorbers with more modern and more efficient telescopic conversions, and then finding that your MGB is no longer a "classic car", according to the EU.

Reaching for the bottle is one suggestion, but it is not the right one, Spitfire. We should all fight like fury to support Marta, fill up every petition going, enrol with "38 degrees", and the Peoples Referendum movement, and eventually shake ourselves free of this awful, awful European Union. For any Continental readers of this forum, I love you all (well, most of you) but we should all be able to make our own laws as independent Countries in one large trading group. It is not going to be easy, because the EU is one enormous self-perpetuating monstrosity employimg thousands and thousands of people - whose careers are all being funded by - us! Whatever hsppens, we must "Non illegitimae carborundum".

A very frustrated Colin B.

I just meant that this is the wavelength these EEC Bore a cracts live on.
They have to justify their existence/wage packet.
