I have been given some information on an M-Type in Brisbane in the early 1930's. There is no chassis number, but there is an engine number:- MG1271A. Can anyone help with a likely chassis number for this car, and does it still survive today. It was used in competition events by Andrew B Gillespie in October 1934. Thanks Tony
The original chassis for this engine is 2M 1524 and this chassis is believed exported to Australia from new. 1524 is register number 2390 and is listed as belonging to Alan Robinson in Australia.
Well how about that - Alan gave me the engine number information from a M-Type handbook that someone gave to him, quite a few years after he acquired 2M 1524. As the car did not have the original engine,
he did not know the book and the car were "related". He does now.
