After 3 years of blood, sweat, tears and many $$$$, KN0389 is almost done. It drives well, some loose ends still to tidy up, but hopefully the majority of work and money has been expended. Original green exterior and interior colour. KN0389 is the only know 4 door pillarless saloon in North America. UK plate AVB124 and I managed to get Ontario plate AVB124.

OK, here the doors are open. Photos were taken before new wheels and engine, dash installed. Engine "before", as received. KN0389 was very complete and generally unmolested. Odometer showed 54,000 miles and given the good condition of the running gear probably original miles.

Lovely to see and a credit to the owner. What a contrast to the fake K3 route.

Beautiful car, Bob. A credit to it's restorer. Has the car always been a Canadian?

Great to see a KN restored in such a sympathetic manner. So much nicer than the usual KN these days with a pointed tail and a Brooklands exhaust. There are times (especially this Summer) when I wish my KN had a roof! Interesting to see the treatment of the rear footwell with foot space both sides of the chassis rail. As the car is pretty original is that how the floor came or have you worked it out as you went along? My UM tourer has a shallower flat floor with a toolbox under it but I am happy to believe it is not original.

Lovely car. Martin

Looks great Bob, I'm glad to have played a small part in the delivery of the car.

Hi Martin

Footwell treatment is exactly the same on Peter Prossers KN (BYK 340)

Having had a closer look I think the Saloon body interior is a bit wider than the tourer (or narrower running boards if you like). This gives room for a footwell on both sides of the chassis rather than just on the inside for one foot which mine had for a while. Martin

Very well done - the car looks absolutely superb.

Was the car fitted with a crash gearbox from new?

To answer a few questions.
1-KN0389 was imported into the USA from England 30 June,1969. Sold to Win Estes in Pebble Beach California in 1973. I bought the KN from Win in spring 2009 and imported the car to Ontario Canada in August 2009.
2-Rear footwell boxes are original on each side of the chassis.
3-Crash gearbox as original.
4-Front chassis cross tube was added to improve front spring stability. For some reason, MG did not have this cross tube on KN.

Thanks for all the good comments.
I would be remiss if I didn't acknowledge the great help my friend Gord Whatley has been as he co-ordinated the chassis, paint, general assembly of the KN. Also bugged me to buy parts and generally kept the project moving. I was involved with the mechanical side. Of course, there are many others who contributed. To all, THANKS.
