My dismantled J2 I am told was originally grey in colour. What are other owners feelings about this colour ? I have yet to see a .....J in grey .... I have seen a red and a green one in a local showroom in Nutley...very nice, but I would like to be a little different and more conservative...and as the car was originally grey !! What would have been the colour of the interior trim and the wheels ?
Is the grey paint available ?
Thanks

Chris grey with a red interior makes a very attractive combination but not often seen these days.

Chris I agree with Terry, the grey with red upholstery does look very nice. Barry Walker recently sold a two tone grey P type which certainly looked very period. He may still have some photos?

Thanks Chaps,
I like the idea of the grey and red interior and you have persuaded me, I like something a little different.

It's required, Chris, Wheels should match the trim |

Wheels were usually painted to match the trim, but only someone with access to all of the Build Records can say whether this was always the case.

Here's Richard Hardy's (two tone) grey and red J1. And in the picture section of this website under members' cars, there's J2714, a very famous and gorgeous trials car in grey with black interior. Incidentally, both cars have silver painted wheels, neither are in trim colours.

Thanks Cat,
Wow !! Is this the correct shade ? If so could you post details.
I notice that the ' red ' interior is almost maroon ? Not sure about maroon for the wheels, but the brighter red I could live with as a match.
I have ordered a copy of the original build files so maybe I will get more information.

Have a look in the members cars section under J3. The picture of J 3772 is quite similar.
