Dear fellow MMM enthusiasts,

I am looking for some advice for nice itineraries.
We are landing in Harwich Thursday June 13 very early morning. From there we will have to get to the northern Cotswolds where we will be staying for 2 nights. Saturday evening we will stay close to Silverstone. We are 2 fast MMM cars and are not shy of covering mileage. On Friday we are envisaging to make a trip into Wales.

Please bear in mind driving fast makes not only the MG thirsty so suggestions for nice pitt-stops to quench the thirst of the drivers
would be more than appreciated as well

Thanks in advance,

Arjen

I would suggest a 20 mile circular trip or two around Silverstone on the Saturday afternoon Arjen, a bit repetitive but you will see a few people you know on the same tarmac, some more than others !!!

Hi Arjen

The Cotswolds is a very pretty area with lots to see, and nice scenic roads.

One place of interest is the Prescott hill climb which is also the
home of the Bugatti Owners Club, Gotherington, Cheltenham, GL52 9RD, and the superb museum. Well worth a visit but I am not sure if the museum would be open - try www.prescott-hill limb.com. The nearby town of Winchcombe is also interesting with Sudely Castle.

There is also a very nice small privately owned brewery at Hook Norton.

This may suit you - some of the many MG Live events this year
George

Full details taken from the MG Live website
Start your MG Live! weekend with our Marque of Friendship scenic tour.

This year’s event is again put together by rally organiser Bob Blackstock, founder of historic regularity rallying in Dorset in the early 90s.

For 2013, we are planning our scenic road run through the Cotswolds to finish with an evening natter close to the Silverstone Circuit.
Choose a morning start from Kimber House at Abingdon for 100 miles of delightful country roads, a mid-day start from Mallory Park with 75 miles, or an early afternoon start from Gaydon and just 30 miles to Silverstone. Any age of MG car can be driven!

Each route will be defined by tulip road book with an optional observation quiz to keep navigators on their toes. With additional support from Peter Best Insurance the entry fee this year is reduced to just £22 per car with discount vouchers for optional visits during the afternoon to the Heritage Motor Museum at Gaydon and the National Trust Canons Ashby House.

NEW FOR 2013!

This year a new Competitive Class will be introduced on the Abingdon run only. This will include an additional 25 miles of Regularity timed sections on the Friday run and entry in the Saturday morning California Cup autotest, for an additional entry fee of £25 and insurance available through the MSA brokers. This class is limited to 12 entries.

Marshals will be needed on this event to help out at the two start venues with simple car parking and signing-on duties, so please volunteer to Bob on 01308 427021 or email blackstocks2000@aol.com and bag a free entry on the tail end of the rally – first come, first served.
