Can anyone please let me know the length of the gear leaver in a M type with a four speed box. Also should the inspection plate in the bell housing have a MG logo. Mine doesn't but I recall seeing one for sale on Ebay a couple of moinths age that did.

The overall length of the lever (including the gear knob) is 4 3/4 inches.The inspection cover is plain stamped metal with no logo.My F type has the cast ally cover with the MG logo so maybe thats where they originated.Rgards Richard.

Sorry, the above posting assumes the gearbox has a remote control. If not the length of the gear lever is 18 1/2 inches.Regards Rich
