In 1947 J3 3772 was exported to the USA with/by Herbert Thomas Roberts on RMS Queen Elizabeth. It returned to the UK on 20 April 1951 on RMS Queen Mary, still with H T Roberts.
Is there any way of tracing what he used the car for (competition work?) and where he was based in the USA in this period?
Interestingly he owned the car from Jan 1937 to the outbreak of war in Sept 1939 and bought it back from Mr Coleman in November 1945 and then owned it until April 1959. He was a Sapper in the RE, which may explain why he disposed of the car whilst he was otherwise occupied.
