I have been asked by the main MG Car Club team whether there is a Triple- M car that could be made available for display during the forthcoming classic car show at the NEC.
The club is keen to give the register greater visibility and this is just one way in which they can help us and perhaps we can help them.
Details of the show can be seen at http://www.necclassicmotorshow.com if you're interested in displaying you'd car, could I suggest that you contact the General Manager Julian White directly at the Club at Abingdon. Julian can be reached on 01235 849732 or julianwhite@mgcc.co.uk
Thanks in advance.

We're pleased to report that thanks to the efforts of our Secretary George Eagle, Mike Dowley has kindly offered to display his very historic ex Evans C-type on the MGCC stand at the NEC, with R-type engine, twin rear wheels and all.
It will be a great opportunity to see the car at close quarters but alas it will be a silent exhibit!

This is one serious motor car! I saw it when Oliver Richardson had it in his workshop sharing space with my J2 and it's a terrific example of the Marque to have on display. |

I'm doing Saturday. 1pm sounds fine
A change of plans means that I had to travel to Aberdeen, so won't now be at the NEC tomorrow

Dick
'Tis good that you have fixed a time and place. But rather unfortunate that you are the only one there on Saturday
Mike
I can make the MGCC stand at 1pm on Sunday.

I was at the NEC today.
It took over an hour to travel the last 3 miles down the M42 and into the car parks!
The show was not too crowded once we got in.

I should also have included a big thank you to Mike for displaying his very historic C type - as the centre piece of the MGCC stand it certainly attracted a lot of attention.

Hi George, re you last two comments. Yes Mike's C/Q was a terrific centrepiece to the MGCC stand, but I thought the rest of the stand reflected the Club's current attitude to older MGs - almost irrelevant. Why do we need to see modern A2B MGs at a classic show? Also, when attending the bigger shows at NEC don't use their car parks. Drive 5 mins off the M6 to Rugby station, park within 100m of the platform for £3 all day at weekends and get a return train ticket to NEC for about £7. Coventry could be an alternative but I don't know about parking there. But don't tell anyone or the car parks will be full!
