I recently met Peter Archer, grandson of AW Archer, works employee and navigator of J3755 (middle) in the 1933 Monte Carlo Rallye. He has photos and articles he'd like to share with the current owner.

Cheers from cold but sunny Lake Erie... tommm

Hi Tom,
For my sins, it is me.
Bought the car in August. , can't claim to have found it, as it has been recorded on the register for many years belonging to Bob Dickie up in Scotland.
Would very much lie to make contact with Peter Archer.
My e mail address is ronaldwgrant@aol.com
Is Peter in the States?
Regards Ron

Hi Ron,

Very sorry, but the grandson & I really hit it off, and he insists the car should be mine. When is a good time to collect it?

HinTom,
We have some good old Anglo Saxon expressions over here, and I can think of one that fits the bill very nicely!!

LMAO Ron,

Peter lives near Abingdon and is keen to be in touch. I forwarded your email to him.

BTW, we met at Hilton Head several weeks ago when I had my NB there for tour & show. Very nice fellow.

Tommm (who knows many good old Anglo Saxon expressions and always eager to learn more - but not the hard way)

Hi Tom

Never mind not getting your hands on the J3, you have enough cars to be dealing with!!

Does anybody know the type of fog lamp shown on this picture and why the glass is obviously dark, black or blue perhaps. Could it be that perhaps a blue glow gave more light on white snow which they expected to and did encounter on this rally.

Also, can anybody say what the badges are on the tube between the headlights?

This enlargement might make it easier to identify the badges and the light.

Ron I don't know what the ancillary light is or badges are but note it has Rotax headlamps with the stoneguards fitted on 3 studs which go through the rims.

Ron:

The badge on the left appears to be an RAC Associate membership badge.

Terry,
You will be pleased to know, that a pair of Rotax lamps came with the car, no stone guards though, life can be such a bitch at times !!!

John,
I think you could be correct , re the badge on the left.
Have sent you an e mail yesterday through the forum, hope it has arrived .

Regards Ron
