I am pretty sure this is the MGNB reported in the PreWar MG Register of Australia, Newsletter Nov 2013; "Ken and Mary Ann Stewart-Richardson purchased their 1936 MGNB in boxes from the USA two years ago, and carried out a meticulous rebuild of the car including the design and construction of the body from scratch. The red painted coachwork was inspired by the style of the Cresta N types built by Bertelli. The lower NB scuttle line on Ken and Mary Ann's NA0928 beautifully transitions through the door line and complements the unusual rounded tail." REgards. Keith

If that is NA0928, it previously belonged to Charlie Buck of Mystic, CT who passed away in 2002. According to my notes, he was just starting a complete frame-up restoration the year prior to his passing.

Oddly this car does not feature on the pages of the Pre-War MG Register of Australia website at http://prewar.mgcc.info/ Perhaps Matthew Magilton or one of the fraternity down under could comment?

I really like the lines of that body, the person who built it is really skilled.
It looks as if the car is NA0928, and as sub-Registrar looking after the F/L/N types I would love to have confirmation of the chassis number.
Like Dick I have noted the car is not listed in the Australian Pre-war MG Register - neither is my old car NB0960.

Ken and Mary were over in the U.K. early last year, doing the "grand tour" in a rented motor caravan, and they came along to The Leather Bottle at Mattingley to meet us all there. Mary had many photographs of the various cars they own or have owned and the Cresta lookalike was among them. I am fairly sure that she said that Ken had done the body himself, but I am not absolutely certain.
A lovely couple and it was great to meet them. Sorry, I didn't take a note of the chassis number !

George. Tony Sloan, The Registrar of the Pre War Register of Australia will tell you the chassis number. Let me know if you want his e-mail address. |

Colin you are correct, I met up with them on several occasions. About three years ago they brought a ENV gearbox but didn't collect it until this year. As they no longer wanted it they sought to sell it, carrying it around in the campervan. When we went to Beaulieu we loaded it into the back of Chris Keevill's estate, then on the way down Ken got a call from his native Oz and someone brought it. They have a lot of cars only a few M.G's, Mary Ann races an Amilcar.
