The car looks like an F type Magna, note radiator and smaller brakes - pity there is no number plate.
I hope there is a member who recognises the car and can give details of the chassis number/registration.

Anyone agree with me that the doors look rather like P Type but with straight top edge, rather than the rather squarer cut of F, J & L doors?
Cheers,
Dave |

According to Ian Ross's F Type website its F0765, reg No LJ6045, MMM No 1199, Which started life as a salonette and was "later re built as an F2 style replica with some P type cream cracker or Musketeer characteristics".
Cheers! Mike.

Thanks Mike
F0765 is recorded in the printed Triple-M Register as being owned by Ian Ross.
There is very little information on the car in the factory files.

Hello George, In my copy of the printed register (2012) there is no owners name recorded. Ian's F magna registry refers to this car as an ex salonette and also a tourer which spent many years in Northern Ireland. Is the original Guarantee Card missing from the files? Ian could probably tell us if it is now in his ownership. Kind Regards, Mike.

Indeed, F0765 spent some time in Norn Iron but was, apparently, rarely seen out. It belonged to chap called Whyte who was, for a time, a member of the Ulster Vintage Car Club but I have not been able to find out anything more about the car or him.

Hi David Yes, I can confirm my ownership of F0765! You obviously missed my editorial item on the 'F' Type Register website! I am carrying out a thorough, body-off rebuild as shown on the website. There were some puzzling anomalies making it very 'faux Musketeer', but the long-term plan is to return it to its original Salonette state. The first owner was a Mr D Nathoo in Dorset, but I would be grateful for any information to fill in the 'mystery' of its chameleon past. Cheers Ian www.fmagna.org.uk |
