There is a photo of a M-Type with two ladies inside and a police man standing next to it. I used to have a copy in my computer, somewhere. However, I can't find it anymore. I tried the search function in this forum but no success either. Does someone have a copy or know the link to the publisher or have a copy?

Thanks Sam, I think that that was the photo indeed.
Maybe they where from Switzerland because they have the spare wheel on the boot lid. Also two different tire, one quite worn. What are the lights on the wings?

The Swiss flag beside the passenger is a major clue. It is a "Getty Image". I wonder if the original picture includes the registration number.
Can anyone identify the lights on the wings?

If the Registration Number is DG 470 (which it looks as if it is) the car is 2M1077, which is not on the Register Listing. The first owner was Miss M. Satow who lived in Stroud, Gloucestershire.

I would, at first glance, have guessed the side lights were OHC Minor but they look larger and the body of the light in the closer picture looks quite odd.

I would suggest that it is a frame bolted around the lamp mount & supporting a rear view mirror.

On the near side windscreen support is a tax disc holder. This rules out a Swiss car. In Switzerland the road tax is paid to obtain or retain your personal number plate. The car doesn't have its own number plates. If you don't pay the tax, you have to return the number plates. Also the number would be preceded by an abbreviation of the Kanton (county), e.g. BE for Bern, LU for Lucerne (see below). I suspect this is an English lady taking her Swiss friend for a sight-seeing tour.

The M-Type photo appears in this book. However, the registration is similarly cut off.
The caption reads:
Two unhappy ladies in their M-Type Midget after having ben pulled over for a traffic offense
Hard to tell with the officers had cut off and one ladies face behind the windshield pillar.
