There have been reports in the popular press recently to the effect that modified "historic vehicles" may under the current proposals out for consultation be renumbered with a new Q registration.
What are going to be classed as modified? A car that is apparently very original in appearance may have an modified engine giving a far greater power output than the one fitted when new, but without the brakes being upgraded. Surely this is far more dangerous than a vehicle where there has been a cosmetic alteration which is obvious but in no way affects the car's performance.
Is this being considered in the consultation? Should the register be making comment about this. |

I wouldn't believe all that's printed in the "popular" press. That way lies madness. Ian |
