I have written a book about the history of the Great Auclum hillclimbs (1938-1974).

I the mid 1950s a certain G.P. Taylor was very successful at Great Auclum with a MG PB special (4463).

Try as I might, I can find nothing out about Mr Taylor - not even his first name.

Can anyone help please?

By the way, my book will be published late next summer.

Hello, Steve.
Unfortunately, I cannot help with your query but I would be very interested to buy your book when it appears as my car, an N Type Magnette ( Leonard Special) Reg. No. AYT 197 competed there and held the record for some time.
Cheers,
Chris

Hi Chris,
Thank you for your reply. I have one photo of your car at Great Auclum in, I think, 1948. I would really like to see any others that you may have. I don’t have an exact launch date for my book, but keep an eye on my website:https://greatauclum.uk

Cheers,

Steve

I went to watch the hill in 1968 .The only real memory is of GP type car breaking a half shaft off the line and flying off track through the rhodedendrons .

Thanks for your reply, I will look through my material to see what I have and let you know. I’m sure I also have a rare programme of Great Auclum.
