I know it's not MMM related but I thought it was worth a try.

A good friend of mine Michael Bridges has just completed the restoration of his 1946 MG TC registration BST 553 and chassis number TC 1727. The car was first registered in Inverness, Scotland.

He is desperately seeking any of the cars previous history. Any help or leads would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks in advance,
Ian.

Presumably he has tried the TC sources?

Bob.

Hi Bob,

We have also posted on the T register forum but unfortunately the T forum is nowhere near as active as the MMM forum. Worth a shot, you never know. It may ring a bell somewhere.

Thank,
Ian.

Ian,

Your friend could try the Highland Archive and Registration Centre in Bught Road Inverness 01463 256422. They may have a record of the first owner. Also the Kithead Trust http://www.kitheadtrust.org.uk has a card index to 1947 which may reveal something.

TC1727 is one of those TCs which has eluded 'capture' for all those years. My own TC (TC0750) was in regular use from 1946 to 2001 by the same owner but nobody knew about it until it was advertised in 2001 and it was purchased by me.

If your friend would like to e-mail me a photo I will include it in my bi-monthly magazine 'Totally T-Type 2'. I have tremendous 'reach' as my magazine has by far the largest circulation of any T-Type magazine.
