Are there any provisional dates yet for the 2019 Triple-M tour? I'm trying to plan a local event in the spring, and don't want to miss out due to a double booking.

Colin,

There's some provisional information to be found in this thread about wiper motors! - http://www.triple-mregister.org/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=14835&SearchTerms=Welsh,tour

And looking further ahead, any interest in another Ulster Tour in 2020?

Hi Simon
I, for one, would be very interested in another Ulster Tour in 2020 as, sadly, I couldn't join the previous one.
However, as a general comment I think we should also continue to look for new areas of the UK for Triple-Ms to explore, if for no other reason than to spread the workload so it doesn't always fall on the regular volunteers. The original intention for these events was to keep them moving around but we seem to be settling into a pattern of revisits. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy 'em all, just an observation.

Hi Terry,

We seem to have settled into a rotation of nations, i.e. Wales next year, Scotland this year, England last year and Ulster the year before that. Choosing the same nation doesn't necessarily mean the same route (or shouldn't)and while you have more choices of location in England I don't think that that means that England should necessarily have more Tours than other nations. I can guarantee an Ulster Tour with no more than about ten miles duplicating the 2016 event, and even that would be optional! We may be small (and perfectly formed!) but we've lots to offer before we have to start repeating ourselves.

But of course it's for the Committee to decide on such matters.

Chris Little and Ian Goddard are organising the tour and I know that things are coming together very nicely indeed. I dursen't give you the dates (no reason to suppose they will change from the initial plans, but one never knows what may come along to influence things....) Suffice it to say it should be in mid/late September.

Definitely yes please Simon. Tempted to think of the last one as unrepeatable but there’s of course an awful lot of NI still to tour... Admiring your fortitude in contemplating another go!

Hi Simon
Definitely agree with what you say and not suggesting you would just re-run the last one (although even that would be new for me!). My main concern is that we keep varying the terrain and we don't make it a continuing bourdon for the same organisers.
Regards, Terry.

PS Second thoughts, I had understood that there may have been a plan for the MMM register to join in with the EEoTY in Wurzburg in 2010.

Dick,

Can you comment on Brian Wise's reference to the European Event of the Year and possible Register involvement? If there was interest in another Ulster Tour in 2020 I'd need to be starting soon to get a suitable hotel. It's not easy find accommodation for 100-120 people, 50-60 Triple-M cars plus tow cars.

Hello Simon,
All I can say some months ago Walter Kallenberg drew the committee’s attention to the event and wondered whether some form of triple-M group might be established to take part in it. I am not aware this has been progressed in anyway.
I’m out and about at the moment so cannot readily access information about the EEOTY but will do so later and add a further comment.

Thanks, Dick. You’ll probably need a visa (or visas) for the EEOTY next year. Of course, those of us who also have Irish passports will have no trouble.

Will you be making special arrangements for Triple-M visas to cross the hard border to Norn Iron next year, Simon?
