Yes Donald the fenders (UK we call wings) are right as only one was replaced as can be seen from the parts list compiled at the time by my father.

Thanks to all those who have read this thread, 6000+ hits!!!!!! I still hope PA1815 MG 3880 will be found, I now know who brought her from my father back in late 40s or early 50s and she was last known about in Essex in the 60s so somewhere under a dust sheet she may still lie, please keep an eagle eye open.
I was surprised at a family luncheon a couple of weeks ago as apparently I had done 0 to 70 in a respectable 25,568 days and to celebrate MG 3880 with fully detailed dashboard etc. reappeared as if by time machine with me only 10 months old on top of a very boozy fruit cake.
